About Us
Some things become obsolete, some things fall out of style,
but the local music store is a part of our heritage and culture.

Our Purpose

As the story goes.... "I remember when I would go cross town to the local music store. I bought my first trumpet there. They also had a lot of cool guitars and amps and it wasn't long before I was playing around with a bass guitar. I still play around with the bass today. And I still remember my first bass, I picked it up from Leo's Music.

You could go into Leo's at any time and just hang, strum a bit or maybe you'd just sit and chat with Leo. He'd catch you up on what was going on around town and downtown too."

Leo's is gone now. The big box stores and the On-line super sellers have gobbled up a lot of the local music store marketplace.

While local music stores continue to exist, They also face tougher economic times coupled with a marketplace onslaught from the big box sellers and the On-line super sellers. But as always, they also continue to give back to the community that they are part of. They give back economically, socially and intellectually. Leo's certainly did.

Think about it. When was the last time an On-line super seller of musical equipment gave back intellectually to the community. You might be hard pressed for an answer. They certainly give nothing back to your local economy.

We at Musicians Inventory had a decision to make when defining our vision and our On-line participation. Do we want to become another On-line super seller of musical gear? Sounds good doesn't it?

No. We want to be a Leo's.

Local music stores provide a valuable service to the community, but a large percentage have a real problem in competing On-line. Many do not have a presence at all. In the meantime, the big box store and the On-line super seller continue to eat away at market share.

Our goal is to reverse that trend, our goal is to provide a unified Musical Equipment Retail Dealer Network Marketplace.

Our goal is to help the local music store fight back, to help them regain local market share and Online market share.

When you buy from a local retailer through Musicians Inventory, your purchasing dollar goes to work in a neighborhood community.

Not into a centralized corporate bank account.

Your purchase helps strengthen local business communities and aids local economies.

Buy wisely, buy local, buy Musicians Inventory.

We are a new site, developing new features and user benefits as fast as we can.
